Marguerite Dabaie (they/them), author of the graphic novels The Hookah Girl and Other True Stories (Rosarium 2018) and Legends in the Heights (2026), draws autobio, socio-political, and historical-fictional comics with a decorative flair. Dabaie has drawn a lot of art for a long time and, while they lived in New York City for 20 years, they currently live in Japan.
They once upon a time drew a serialized comic called Ali’s House (with Tom Hart), ran Pete’s Mini Zine Fest in Brooklyn, NY, and edited for the Morgan Library & Museum and the Journal of Palestine Studies.
